Social Bookmarking Sites

Like it or not, it seems as though Social Bookmarking Sites are here to stay for a little while.  Not wanting to miss out on some extra traffic, I signed up for a few programs.  I was already a member of Digg and Technorati but hadn’t really posted anything.  I also signed up for bloglines.com, del.icio.us, rojo, shadows, reddit and squidoo.

From what I’ve read there are a couple ways to recieve these traffic benefits.  First, and most obviously, write a kick ass article and Digg It or Technorati It or whatever the hell you want to call it on each of these sites.  To get some extra juice ask your friends to Digg It or Technorati It or whatever they want to call it.  Alright, I’m just calling it Digg It from now on, just to let you know.  Inviting friends on the site with similar interests is another way to get your story read and seen by more and more people as well.
I haven’t done any of this before, but as I’m hoping to write some quality articles in the near future, I’m going to give this a try.  You’ll see people trying to game the system all over the place.  Gaming the system is how a ton of these “technical” webmasters make a ridiculous amount of money.  Personally, I’ve got to go the old fashioned route.  I’m trying to make more and more online contacts and hopefully this will help the Digg Effect.  I’m not expecting big results but I might as well try.  Afterall, they say test test test and it only took a few minutes to set these accounts up!

You should consider setting up these accounts, too!  Send me an e-mail or leave a comment and when you’ve got an article you really think is Digg worthy and you want to promo the hell out of it… hit me up and we’ll trade digs.

I’ll let you know how this goes.  I was most recently intrigued by this when my Press Release was Dugg and Stumbled Upon several times and I got some traffic (although minimal).  I never intended to get ANY from these sites so it was a pleasant surprise!

It’s Been Too Long

Alright, I’m really sick of this shit.  I’ve been way too lazy lately, and not just with my websites.  Across the board, I’m not happy with the way things are going.  It’s one of those things where if I sit down and write a list of all the things I’m not happy with, it seems too ominous to overcome.  You don’t want to start because it’s hard to even make a dent.  You don’t know where to start, so you don’t.  But now I’m pissed and I feel like that’s when I really excel.

For the next 3 months, I’ll be making at least 10 posts on each of my forums.  And, I’ll be making at least 1 post on each of 6 blogs, including this one.  If you’ve enjoyed this blog in the past, then I invite you to come back daily.  If I don’t have any great tidbits of my own, I’ll provide some insight on a blog post or forum thread elsewhere.

I could expand and write thousands of words explaining what’s going on in my life that provoked what some might call such a severe or rash post.  In the end it’s just complaining and making excuses and that’s never productive.

Recently my motivation has been dormant.
Inspiration muted.
I was waiting for someone.
Someone to pick me up, dust me off and light my fire.
I didn’t realize I was waiting for myself.
Here goes nothing…
