$100 Gamble on Eli’s Webmaster Tools

Well, I wouldn’t call it a complete gamble.  Afterall, Eli from Bluehat SEO is the one releasing the product which costs $100/month for a subscription and he has a great reputation not only as a ranking strategy guru but also a valued community member who donates his time and knowledge at large.  If it wasn’t Eli, I probably wouldn’t get the tool.  He’s only selling 100 copies to limit use of the mystery tool but for him, that’s $10,000 of additional revenue a month.  Wow… the jealousy is overwhelming.

I decided to pay for the first month of this tool and evaluate how well it does for me.  A solution like this is pretty much perfect for my needs since I can’t automate anything.  My main concern is that this is TOO automated, and rightfully so to protect his proprietary position.  When you type in your site along with 3 keywords, this tool is supposed to automatically analyze and promote your site based on a laundry list of factors.  It then takes a couple dozen measures to promote your site including adding links on blogs and social networking submission.  The problem?  Nobody really knows exactly what the tool is doing… it just does it.

So basically, I won’t learn anything from this $100.  I pay may money, type my URLs and keywords and the rest is basically magical SEO work.  Now that would be REALLY nice if  I didn’t have to pay the $100 every single month… but let’s see if it’s worth it. There are a bunch more features and areas for tools such as free databases, comment trackbackers and spammers and more.  I don’t have the full details because while I’ve paid, my member status hasn’t been upgraded from Guest to Member quite yet.  Likely by the end of the day.

My other concern is that since 100 people are given access to the exact same tool, each allowed to submit 10 sites a day for it’s use, that is 30,000 submissions per month.  Assuming that the tool will follow the same general concept for each website, I’m hoping it doesn’t somehow discount the value of the linking pattern or  somehow group it as being spamified.  But, I’m sure Eli has thought about all the angles and he has stated all the methods used are completely safe.  They might be NOW… fingers crossed on staying that way.

So now I’m left wondering what keywords I should shooting to rank for on each site.  On some of my very niche sites it’s not a tough question at all.  But, I have others that cover such a huge range of possibilities… search the overture tool for “cooking” or “recipes” and you’ll see what I mean - I don’t know where to start!

In any case, this is going to be a VERY interesting experiment and I’ll make sure to keep you up to date as to the success of this tool.  Go and check out the tool and you can also read the post where Eli officially releases the tool.
